The simplest of words spoken from the mouth of my Savior are all you need. When someone else says, “I will be with you forever.”, you honestly can’t bank in that. Death or divorce has a way of making those words seem rather cheap. Humans are flawed and not too good at keeping promises. But, oh the richness that comes when they roll off the lips of Jesus!
I am with you always.
Jesus means what He says and says what He means. You can bank on those five words in Matthew 28…just as His disciples stood in Galilee that day. Yeah, scripture says that some doubted, but worshipped. Even in our doubts, God still doesn’t change Who He is! You can trust that as a child of God, He is with you until the end of the age! Those aren’t cheap words that fade over the course of time.
He is with you always. He keeps His promises.
Those simple words will be what keep you pushing forward when you want to quit. They will keep you looking up instead of looking down. They will allow you to worship amidst the doubts that arise. They may be simple, but they are oh so sweet!
