Heroes of Faith

We all want “super” faith, don’t we? We want that faith that can move mountains and makes others look on in awe how we have managed to keep going despite our circumstances. We want to be able to do what we don’t understand, because we trust God beyond our comprehension.

But it’s tough sometimes. Life doesn’t give us a helmet when it decides to head-butt us or knock us down. We sometimes don’t get to prepare for what is thrown in front of us. We don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel…or when we do see it, it’s actually a freight train headed right for us!

As I was reading this morning in Hebrews 11 about the “Heroes of Faith” recorded there…I was stirred in my spirit to study each one closely. Yes, I’ve read these scriptures many times before…heard sermons and lessons about them…but have I really tried to dissect their faith and see their faith down to the detail? See why they are truly a hero in the faith? A lot of these people are Sunday school stories we have heard over and over and some we may have memorized, but we fail to see the faith they possessed in God in that moment in their life.

Maybe their faith in their circumstances, can help us in our circumstances.

Maybe their hope will give us hope.

Maybe the assurance they had in their moment of time is the assurance we need to get through our next few days.

I hope you will join me as I share them here.

Faith: the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen

We need faith in these last days, friends. God needs superheroes that are willing to stand when others are hiding in the corner. He needs mighty warriors who will contend for truth when the lines are blurred. We must be bold and be the voices of love to a world who desperately need to know the grace of a Savior!

Get your cape ready, girlfriend. We must point this world to The One who has saved us!
