Gifts from God

Yesterday was a wonderful Mother’s Day. I received some sweet and thoughtful gifts from my family and enjoyed the day. Not a single picture was taken, but the memories I made will be treasured forever. As I sit here sipping my coffee and looking back over my sermon notes from yesterday, I realize that no gift could ever be more important than those gifts that God gives us. I love that in 2 Timothy 1:7, Paul tells Timothy as he is preparing to preach and teach that God did not give him a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Well guess what? The same God of Paul and Timothy is your God! That same power, love and soundness of mind is yours for the taking!

We celebrate the gift of salvation, which we should…but there are so many more things that God wants to give you as His child. He won’t give you anything that you don’t ask for and He won’t make you accept anything He offers if you don’t want to. If we are being honest, we accept a lot of things from the enemy and this world that aren’t worth accepting. Today is a new day. Accept and celebrate the gifts that God offers to you, his child, and allow the Holy Spirit to work through you this day! Allow Him to show you great and mighty things, friend. Be encouraged that you are celebrated and loved by the God of the universe…and He wants to pour out His love in tangible and intangible ways!

Happy Monday!
