Here lately I have been struggling. Today, I find myself on the couch battling day four of a bad headache and sinus pressure. I have so much to do, but all I want to do is sleep and disconnect from the world.
I don’t feel very sure of anything in this moment under the comfort of my blanket…dreading having to come out from underneath it to pick up my kids from school. This quiet house is secure and steady when I my brain is anything but that. I literally have to stand in front of 130 women on Saturday night and my thoughts have yet to make it to paper. I know what God has placed on my heart, but I keep questioning myself. It drains me. I feel like I spend a lot of time trusting in my own self, when God says just trust me and where I am taking you. Quit stressing yourself out and fearing these unsteady times when your body says chill out. Stop feeling guilty for resting…your body needs it. I’m preparing you for the next height you must climb.
As I was looking at memories in my phone from this day, this post from four years ago showed up for me. Maybe I needed the reminder that my security isn’t placed in what I accomplish on a given day, but what Jesus accomplished on the cross. When my to-do list seems to keep growing, He said, “it’s finished.”
I needed to rest in that today.
My head hurts, but my heart is encouraged.
My body is weak, but He is strong.
My feet are sure in Him, when my mind wants me to doubt.
My prayer is the Lord helps you see your security in Him, too. Rest in Him. Trust Him. He is taking you to new places.

Took the extra time to research what makes deer feet so special…
They are sure footed.
A deer is so sure of foot, it fears not the high, rocky and unsteady places of its mountain home.
Also, a deer is so sure footed he does not look down when he runs ; his head is held high and he looks far ahead – as though he trusts something or someone else to ‘set’ his feet in secure places.
I love this! When we feel like life is unsteady and we can’t take another step, remember if we have Jesus we have a sure footing in Him! We don’t need to look down or around when we make mistakes or fall short, but we should remember our sure footedness and hold our head high…looking ahead to our ultimate destination…our heavenly home!
