“You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
1 Corinthians 6:20
Don’t be so hard on yourself, today. You may have encountered heartache as soon as you opened your eyes. Maybe you woke up stressed out to the max. You might feel like your body is failing you as you are reading these words…I really don’t know. Well, I’m here in your Facebook feed to remind you…Don’t allow yourself to be tempted by the things of this world that are unholy and defile your walk with God. You were bought with a price.
That price was the death of Jesus Christ. Because of Him, we are redeemed from the curse of the law! Anything that we buy in the natural world, we either “want” it, or we “need”. it. Same goes for God.
He WANTS a relationship with us and we NEED a relationship with Him!
In the Garden, we broke our relationship with Him and He made a way (through His Son) to “buy us back”. The perfect blood of Jesus was shed so that we could be purchased for eternal life with Him! There is no amount of money you can put on your child. You wouldn’t sell them for anything in the world and you would be hard pressed to watch them suffer in agony for something that someone else did. That is far too great a cost for you. But, God knew the only way to buy you and I back was to send His Son to the cross. Upon the cross the weight of the sin of this world fell upon His shoulders.
That is love.
So when you think about the cross, the nails and that crown of thorns…be reminded that there was price tag attached that offers eternal life. There was love poured out there through the blood of our Redeemer.
You aren’t cheap.
You are loved by your Heavenly Father and you should walk in the knowledge of how valuable you are to Him. You may feel unworthy at this moment, but God thinks you are worth dying for!
Live on that today! Don’t discount yourself for anyone or anything! Glorify God in your mind, body and soul! Focus on your relationship with God and He will show you just how worthy you are because of what Jesus did on the cross!
