“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
I used to love riding my bike when I was a kid. We would take aluminum soda cans and put them on the top of the tire to make our bikes sound like motorcycles or clothespin a playing card to the spokes. When it got dark, my brother and I would duct-tape flashlights to the handlebars for headlights. Letting go of the handlebars, doing tricks or just racing to see who could pedal the fastest. Those were great memories.
Ever feel like you pedal faster and faster in life, but then you look to see how far ahead you are to find you are sitting in the same place? Maybe you need to stop trying to be in control? Most of the time we are trying to balance on flat spiritual tires. Not possible. Stop pedaling.
When life feels like a balancing act and you can’t find your way, trust in the Lord. Lean on Him, take your feet off the pedals and let Him guide you! You can get so much further coasting on Jesus that you can trying pedal as fast you can! Your chain will eventually slip or break. Don’t understand why your life feels like it’s weaving and spinning out of control? Maybe you need to submit your ways to Him…He will straighten it out!
Even better, you won’t need a flashlight duct-taped to the handlebars…’cause you have The Light guiding you!
