Trees

83BEC29F-4A8B-4288-942D-232D95F430E9I have a lot of trees buried in my spirit that need to be uprooted. One in particular, if I am being real with myself, is bitterness. Y’all….it’s tough. I am good some days and then other days, it takes everything I have within me. I am non-confrontational and I don’t want to make anyone upset, so I don’t say anything at the expense of “keeping the peace”. In turn, I am the one that suffers. It creates anger in my heart, which yields bitterness. I guess a lot of it is because I expect too much out of people, maybe? I love big, give everything I have to those that I love and I expect the same in return. Sometimes it doesn’t work out that way, now does it? People aren’t going to act ways act the way we want them to unfortunately. Gah lay, it would be so easy if they did, huh? Thankfully, God is faithful even when people are not.

Well, in Luke 17:6 it says, “He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.” Mulberry trees have some serious roots, y’all. Different translations say different things, but mulberry trees have roots that go deep. Waaaay down there in your spirit. They don’t just budge on your own effort. It requires spiritual intervention when we have those deep rooted feelings of hurt, anger and bitterness that have grown roots for months, years and even decades. I’m learning, myself…but I do know that faith is action. It requires us to say something. What am I supposed to say?
Speak to tree(s) that are planted within your spirit. Tell ‘em to get out!
I know you think I am crazy…but go back and read that verse again. Uprooting those things which hinder our fellowship with our God allows us to plant those seeds of forgiveness that will flourish in our spirit!
What trees do you need to speak to in your life today?
