No Prob-llama

I’ve never been much of a worrier…but it seems these days it is easy to find problems and stress. Worry seems to hop on our backs for a ride-along and at times we just can’t shake it off. Whether you care to admit it or not, we are living in perilous times and it can cause even the believer to get consumed with everything but God.

Why does that happen, and how can we fix it?

Well, I fumbled through the pages of the Bible this morning and went back to John where I have been for several weeks and then ended up in Hebrews. I just wasn’t settled in anything and was waiting on God to give me a sign…I read through a whole chapter in a commentary and at the very end was this scripture quoted in relation to another verse:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

-Philippians 4:6-7

This scripture is right above where I was at yesterday. Now, I don’t believe in coincidence. In my heart I know there is someone that needs to hear this: “what you have been doing has not been working.” If your life feels like it is weighed down with worry, troubles and drama galore…go to God. Philippians says to go to Him in prayer and petition…make your requests known.

He cares.

When you come to Him in petition, you are first acknowledging that He is God, but also acknowledging He is willing and able to grant your requests through faith. You can try to fix things on your own, but it never works honestly. Maybe for a season, but usually you will find you have more drama pricking you in the end, when you lean to your own understanding.

What does verse 7 say?

After making your requests known, the peace of God will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. That peace surpasses EVERY thought. Last time I checked, every means ALL.

Where there is peace, there is no worry.

Where there is peace, there is no fear.

Where there is peace, there is no drama.

Start today as a no-drama llama, with the peace of God draped over you like a beautiful carpet. His peace surpasses ALL thoughts…so that load of worry, fear and doubt can no longer weigh you down! You won’t be pricked with that load of anxiety.

With God…there’s no “prob-llama” too big! You can trust in that today, tomorrow and until the end of the earth.
