We tend to sip where we could gulp; we gulp waters that we could wade in and we wade in where we could dive and plunge in deeply. Most of us need to be encouraged to go deeper and further into the things of the God. He wants us to plunge into Him with reckless abandon. He doesn’t want us just sipping on His goodness. He wants us diving in headfirst and experiencing everything that He has for us! When we are fully immersed in Him, just as if we were to dive off a diving board into a swimming pool, there is nothing surrounding us except water.
But, with Jesus…it’s Living Water.
It’s liberating and exhilarating.
Sometimes, it takes your breath.
When you are submerged in Christ, you can’t hear anything else…the world is quiet. Now, we know we can’t stay underwater forever…we got to come up for air…’cause we can’t breathe down there in the depths. But, oh when you come back up after an experience with Him…aren’t you refreshed? You know you’ve been with Him!
When you come up to the surface of the water from that dive, you breathe a little different…you got to catch your breath…your heart is beating a little faster and your countenance says, “I came back from what should have swallowed me up!” You know you have been with the Lord!
God wants so much more for you than sitting on the edge of life’s pool with your feet dangling in the water. You can’t experience all He has for you if you are scared to jump in? He wants us to live fully devoted to Him…not sipping on Him from underneath the poolside umbrella of grace. Ask Him for more of Him and then put on your goggles and head over to the diving board and jump in. Friend, when you float back to the surface, you will be changed.
“And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.” Exodus 33:18
