Reading in John 9 early this morning.
Jesus passed a blind man. As He did, the disciples asked whose sin caused the blindness. Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.” (John 9:3). The disciples saw only the stain of sin through this man’s birth, but Christ challenged their limited perspective.
This paragraph got me thinking. What if we changed our perspective from, “Why is this trial happening to me” or, “How am I going to get through this” to a viewpoint of God’s works being displayed in our life? God can use the “spit” in our lives (as he did with the blind man) as a chance to draw us closer to Him and for those around us to see the works of God displayed through us!
When the hand of Jesus is at work it is undeniable. It isn’t easy to feel the touch of the Holy One when our eyes are blind to His miracles in our life, but if we take time to clean off our spiritual lenses, we will have no problem recognizing and praising our God and acting on the truth we have experienced by His miraculous touch.
Just because you are going through a tough time doesn’t mean God isn’t there…He is using you as a tool to display His greatness and grace! Give Him time to clear the mud…you WILL see!
