I’m a little addicted to Rae Dunn pottery. I started collecting a little over a year ago just because I liked the look of her mugs (they are imperfect and quirky like me) and I drink coffee every morning…well, more like up until lunchtime.
Unfortunately, a lot of other people like Rae Dunn, too…and because of that it can be quite hard to find pieces for my collection. But when I do, my heart just overflows…a lot like my coffee as I drink from one of the many treasured mugs!
As I read the 23rd Psalm this morning, my mind was fixated on these three words in verse 5, “my heart overflows.” As excited as I get over finding a coffee cup, it doesn’t compare the joy that floods my heart when I think about all God has done for me. I can easily look back and see His rod and His staff comforting me…walking beside me…restoring my soul. That makes my heart truly overflow! I can look back and follow the rocky path that it took to get me to where I am at this present moment and my heart is “filled to the brim” with gratitude. I am sipping from my saucer, because my spiritual cup is overflowing!
Right now I am witnessing miracles of God in my own life. But guess what, there are miracles in your life, too! If your cup feels empty, start pouring In your blessings…I can guarantee that you can’t sip fast up to keep them from overflowing! God is faithful, my friend.
