We don’t like suffering.
We don’t like trials.
We don’t like learning a lesson.
We don’t like being in a “briar patch”.
However, those things are for our God to work in us and through us..but we have to put our faith and trust in Him. Yesterday, my pastor made a statement that I immediately got a visual for:
“You belong to Jesus in your briar patch.”
Sometimes we find ourselves in a briar patch because we chose to hop right on in there knowing good and well what we were doing. We knew we would get caught up in a mess, but chose to keep on hopping. Other times, we are minding our business and because of no fault of our own, we end up tangled up in a mess or briars wondering how we got there.
In both situations though, Jesus is in the briar patch with you…you still belong to Him while there. Sometimes you may not see Him, but He is right there with you in your tangled up mess.
But what is our job?
Seek Him.
How?
Through prayer and praise. He is still God amidst your mess. His power and His glory supersedes whatever you are going through at this very moment. Praise Him in the briar patch, friend. While you are sitting there feeling stuck, offer a sacrifice of praise to your Lord. In that “stuck-ness”, God is moving and preparing you for a greater purpose. Keep seeking Him.
God is with you right now, my friend. You may not feel Him working, your prayers may be going unanswered…but I promise you, He is in there with you. Keep searching…I know you will find Him.
See Jesus in my briar patch?
I do. 😊
