Daniel and the Devil

Let’s not forget the story of Daniel in the lion’s den. Scripture says that he refused to pray to the king after a decree was passed. He continued to pray to God and didn’t change his habits. He was praying to God before the decree and he continued to pray to Him afterwards. When he was caught in the act, he found himself hanging out with a bunch of lions. He was told before he ever prayed, that after this decree was given, where he would end up…but that didn’t change him or what he did. He chose to continue to pray to God, no matter what!

He was in their den and quite certain he would be devoured. But God!

Now, we know that scripture says in Daniel 6:22, “My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king.”

If we can read and believe that the God of Daniel can shut the mouths of a den of lions because of his faith, how can we not believe that He will do the same for us?

Read this closely, friend and let it sink into your spirit.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8 that the enemy (the devil) is like a roaring lion who prowls around looking for who he may devour. We must be alert, my friend. His mission is to steal, kill and destroy and he is the ruler of this world. He wants nothing more than for you to bow down to him and turn your back on God!

How do I stay above that, Ashlee?

Read the Word. Read it aloud. Let it soak into your spirit as you hear the words coming off of your lips! The enemy knows the Word of God and he is the author of lies. The Word of God is truth and lies cannot stand against the truth, my friend! The enemy cowers at the name of Jesus and His Holy Word!

Pray. Pray without ceasing. It doesn’t have to be eloquent, but when you are in conversations with God and talking to Him…listening to Him speak to you through the Holy Spirit within you…the enemy can’t get a word in when you talking with God! When you claim your allegiance to your God, it’s like slapping duct tape over the mouth of that lion and saying to him, “I dare you to say something now!”

Read this closely, too. Live in the power that you have access to as a child of God! Because of Jesus, we can have the faith of Daniel and know that no matter what may come our way or where we find ourselves, we are in God’s hands and out of the mouth of the enemy!

We must speak the name of Jesus over everything in our lives and live a life of Daniel, which scripture said was blameless before God! You can do it through faith in the Father, my friend.

Get that roll of holy duct tape and let’s fight the enemy today! Tell him, “But God!” when he starts roaring. You will come out of this lion’s den you have found yourself in unscathed and praising God! You can be just like those heroes of faith we read about in Hebrews. They were common men and women who did nothing but surrender to an Almighty God!
