I have learned through my own experiences and being around other Christian people that we usually function like this:
- We have a problem, situation or need guidance.
- We try to fix it ourselves or trust on others peoples opinions or ideas.
- That don’t work.
- We cry…get frustrated…throw up our hands.
- We go to God.
Isn’t that usually how things work? Maybe not always, but in daily living that’s how we choose to operate most of the time…if we are being honest with ourselves. I was reading in 2 Peter, chapter 1 this morning and verse 3 says,
“His divine power has granted us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to His own glory and excellence…”
Wow! His divine glory. Do you know what that means? This is universe-making, world-shaking, grave-breaking power! That power has granted us ALL things that pertain to life. The little stuff, the big stuff and everything in between. Well, what does that mean? That means that when we need something in life, we don’t need to rely on our own self, ‘cause we know how that works out (see that list at the beginning if you need a reminder), but we must go to God in prayer and meditating on His Word.
Anytime you need help, God is there. His divine power has granted us access to Him through prayer and The Word. Those two things are the lightning rod in our hand against the evil that lurks around us. We can look to every other source of power in this world, but in the end you will be left in the dark. We are to live in The Light, through Jesus, who has called us to His own glory and excellence!
So, here’s how life should ALWAYS look:
- We have a problem, situation or need guidance.
- We go to God.
Simple enough for me! Live today knowing divine power has granted you everything you need in this life of you are a believer in Christ! That’s life-changing, friend!
