Dwelling Place

Where do we dwell?

Self-doubt?

Worry?

Self-pity?

Regret?

Unforgiveness?

Anger?

I’ve taken up residence with a lot of those over the years, but as a believer that lives in faith that is not where we should EVER choose to live.

Psalm 91 says,

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fused under the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no foe can withstand].” It also says that under His wings shall you trust and find refuge.

In my opinion that is a place that I want my spirit, soul and mind to dwell. Not on the things of this world and my natural instinct to give my opinion to my situation, my friends problems or offer temporary advice. I want to go to the Almighty…the Most High…my Lord…my God. I have learned that my faith must be anchored in the Word of God and guess what…the Word of God ALWAYS works. In the natural, we will always want to go back and dwell in the default of our flesh, but if we remember the words of Psalm 91 and where we have access to because of the Holy Spirit that lives within us, we will take up residence in the shelter and shadow of our Father!

In studying, I learned that Satan actually used Psalm 91 against Jesus (twisting its words) when he tempted him…I can’t help but think that even the devil himself knows how powerful the words of this Psalm can be when we choose to live there. Set up camp.

Put up your tent.

Start a campfire within your spirit based on the words of Psalm 91. Read it. Meditate on it and watch what God will do when you sit under His righteous crown and cover yourself with His feathers.

Don’t dwell anywhere else but in the shadow of the Most High and watch Him work!
