His Shield

God will come through for us even if our situation seems hopeless. Our God goes to battle for us.
-Alexandra Hoover

When I tell you that this statement is true…it’s not because I just believe it, I have seen it happen in my own life. There have been so many times that I have seen God go to battle for me. I had to surrender my sword and allow Him to take care of a situation or problem. I had to trust Him to fight for me. Instead of me trying to defend myself…I would remain silent and allow God to work it out. Listen, that is a feat within itself. I can keep my mouth shut (as I am quite introverted by nature), but when it comes to speaking my mind or defending myself, I don’t mind doing just that.

However, God is so much stronger than me. His voice has so much more power. He is our defender and contender. And as I read through Psalm 35, this drawing was there. I can remember when I drew it it in 2015…now seeing the opposition or criticism that I would face just a little over two years later, I smile. God was preparing me for the toughest battle of my life and I didn’t know it. There were many times I would tell people, “God is my defender. He will fight for me.” If I said it once, I said it a million times. I didn’t say it just to say it.
I seen the power of His shield.

I’m gonna say it one more time (in all caps)

I HAVE SEEN THE POWER OF HIS SHIELD. If you have ever came out of a battle with a few scars, but your soul stronger…you know what I’m talking about.

If you feel hopeless today and you don’t feel like you can take one more step in the fight…Stop where you are and get down behind God’s shield. It covers all the fiery darts, all the evil, and yes, all the hopelessness. Don’t allow this battle to get the best of you. Trust Him to bring you to the other side unscathed. He will come through for you today. Lay down your weapons…this fight is too big for you alone. Behind His shield is the victory.
