Jehovah Rohi

No wonder God refers to man as sheep in His Word. If you know anything about them, then you know they are dumb and slow learners. They are easily to stray and get lost. They can’t do anything without a shepherd. Now, a shepherd must live a life of sacrifice and they must possess authority. Without authority, sheep have been known to fall off cliffs or jump into water in which they can’t swim.

Sounds like us, doesn’t it?

Prone to wander.

Slow learners.

Truth be told, we are unable to live without Jehovah Rohi…The Lord our Shepherd.

Without submitting to the authority of our Lord, we are destined to end up over a spiritual cliff. We think we can do things on our own and we got “everything under control”, but in reality we are to be sheep following the authority of our God. We should be listening for His voice and His direction each day. When we wander away and lose sight of The Shepherd, we are setting ourselves up to be devoured by this world of wolves, but when He is near…we have nothing to fear.

See Psalm 23.

Our Jehovah Rohi makes sure that His children lack nothing! Why do we wander like sheep when He has green pastures, quiet waters and right paths before us? With His rod and staff comes comfort. He prepares a table for us and our cup overflows when we abide in Him!

Why are we so slow to learn? His goodness and faithful love pursue us (verse 6) all of our days. We lack nothing in His field. I love when you read in the New Testament about how Jesus is our Good Shepherd…He sacrificed His life for ours. Before He was the a good Shepherd, He calls Himself the gate for the sheep. In the city walls, sheep would enter in through the “sheep gate” to go to the slaughter…but Jesus says that through Him, there is a way out from death! He is The Way, The Truth, The Life!

Now that’s protection that can only come from our Jehovah Rohi!

Walk in the pasture of provision.

The field of faith lacks nothing for the child of God.
