I encourage you to read the book of Hosea. In Chapter 3, Hosea is buying back Gomer (his whore wife…I didn’t call her that, God did) after she ran off with another man.
Sorry to be so blunt, but isn’t that how we are with God? He has written love on His arms through His death on the cross and bought us back with His blood, yet we have our eyes on everything else! Hosea is such a powerful picture of the love God has for us.
We want to pursue everything else in this life, but God. Lord knows I have been guilty…but even when we are looking the other way, as His children he is still holding our hand and waiting on us to turn around. When we do, we will see the love in His eyes that He has for us!
God loves you more than anyone ever could! Hold tight to that promise…and stop looking away from Him. You have pursued everything else and it didn’t work out for you…how about pursuing Jesus? He is right there behind you holding your hand…just turn around.
