Last night at church during our talk on being spiritually filled, we were given several verses. Usually I will write them down and go back to them at a later date. My daily reading has been in Ezra, but my spirit was so overwhelmed after last night that I wanted to share something that has been building up within me over the course of a few weeks and then God showed me last night that He is orchestrating everything! I just need to follow and yield to Him. I knew it in my heart, but to actually have confirmation from someone who had no clue of the desires God has personally placed within me is absolutely astonishing. I’m going somewhere, I promise. You see, I truly believe that the majority of people do not realize the power they have when they accept Jesus as their personal Savior. It’s more than that, friends. We possess a power (through Christ) that is supernatural. It’s unexplainable and unfathomable to most, because we think all God wants for us it to miss hell, go to heaven and worship Him for eternity. Yes, He does…but you have so much untapped power within you, sister.
One of the verses last night that I wrote down was Hosea 4:6. It says:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because you have rejected knowledge…”. This is only part of the verse, but this is the part that I want to concentrate on.
Also, read 1 Corinthians 12:1-12. I’m not going to type it out, but it talks about spiritual gifts.
For now, think about Hosea 4:6 above. We are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Remember in Proverbs that wisdom/knowledge comes from fear (reverence) of the Lord, which is a result of studying and reading God’s Word and making His Word first priority in your life. How do we reject knowledge? By doing the opposite of what God says in His Word. Destroyed is a harsh word, I know, but it shows how our spirit just perishes when we aren’t connected to the vine…The Word…The Savior. Last night the teacher gave an illustration of a tomato on a vine. As long as it is connected to the vine, it is living. But as soon as you pluck it from the vine and put it on your counter waiting for the mayonnaise and bread…it begins to perish. Why? Because it isn’t connected to its source of strength, it’s vine. The vine is where it grows, matures and develops into the juicy goodness that eventually makes that salsa taste so good with those endless chips…Praise the Lord!
You want to have the power of the Anointed One (Christ) in your life? You got to stay connected to the vine. You are like that tomato, friend. You can’t grow spiritually on your own. You can’t mature without the nutrients found in His Word. Your spirit will not perish as long as you are connected to Christ…but you will possess unexplainable power through the Holy Spirit! I don’t know about you but that gets me excited! This may not make sense to you and you might think I have lost my marbles, but I can see so much untapped potential in the children of God because they refuse to allow their flesh to perish, so the power of God can be activated within their lives!
“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.” Ephesians 4:17-18
We can’t live focused on futile thinking and separated from God because of ignorance (not knowing). Go on little tomato…go back to the vine and grow and mature to the mighty woman of God that is within you! You never will reach a perfect ripeness, but I’m striving for tasty fruit for those around me to savor and a relationship with God that gets sweeter everyday! All glory to God!
Taste and see that the Lord is good! (Psalm 34:8)
