Have you ever said to yourself, “I can’t hear God.” Or maybe, “I don’t feel Him near.”
Maybe you are going through a tough time right now and you need to hear from Him. You need His glory to fill the room you are sitting in…at THIS very moment. I’ve seen a lot of hurt this evening as I scrolled through social media and talked with friends/family…
Death.
Families torn apart.
Sickness.
Financial problems.
I came into the quiet of my bedroom and started reading in 2 Chronicles, Chapters 1-5. It’s where Solomon is preparing to build and constructs the temple to the Lord. Chapters 3-5 detail all the intricacies that went into building the temple down to fine detail. Solomon was building this temple to meet with His God. This was the place where the people would hear from Him, feel His presence and see His presence in a cloud of glory. After building and singing praises, the glory of the Lord completely filled the temple. The priests stopped ministering because of the glory of the Lord was present. They were speechless, I’m sure.
Now today, we don’t need to construct a temple for the Lord to meet with us. Our hearts are where the Holy Spirit resides and to meet with Him all we must do is be available. Often times, the reason we do not hear from Him and can’t feel His presence is because we have built barriers between Him and us with everything else.
Work.
Television.
Sports.
Social Media.
The list could go on for days.
God will always meet with you when you prepare your heart, pave the way and expect His presence in faith. Solomon knew how to experience the glory of the Lord…so he took action. We must take action, too. Faith without works is dead. God wants nothing more than to reveal Himself to you, but you must be willing to clear out all the debris and lay down a pathway paved with faith and trust in Him. As a child of God, every tool that you need to build a dynamic relationship with Him is inside of you.
Within you, is the temple of the Almighty God. Allow the Holy Spirit to fill you completely…from the top of your head to the soles of your feet.
We must continually be paving a way to get closer to our God. Be available…He is gonna show up, friend.
His glory is going to leave you speechless.
