It’s easy to praise God when things are quiet in life…everything is in its box and sitting on the shelf perfectly. But life isn’t always air-popped to perfection. Usually we are put in the microwave of tests or trials and we don’t know what is going to pop up!
Read Psalm 22. David feels forsaken by God and talks about how his suffering and difficulties in life. Amidst all the suffering, He still chooses to say, “yet you are holy” (verse 3) and sings praise to the Lord for being his rescuer and caring for him since his mother’s womb. David found a reason to praise God no matter what had “popped up” in his life….and if you read take the time to read about the life of David, he seemed to find himself in the hot-seat on more than on occasion.
I know I don’t have that “popcorn praise” at times. I allow my circumstances or a situation to have me losing a little faith or hope…but my goal is to praise God no matter what may “pop” up in my life. Even when our bucket is overflowing with life’s pop-ups, just remember that God is holy…he’s there with each bite…helping you to swallow your fears and have full confidence that things will be “butter”.
Sorry, not sorry about that last sentence. It was just too cute not to throw in there. Now, go make this Tuesday terrific!
