Raising our Banner

In Exodus, when the Israelites defeated the Amalekites, Moses built an altar and named it Jehovah-Nissi. You see, he held up his rod during this battle…knowing the reason the Israelites won the battle was because of God. God was the only one responsible for the victory. Read the whole story and see how when Moses got tired and dropped his rod, the Israelites started losing the battle…but anytime the rod was held high, they were winning. The battle was only won by the power of God…not by being a supreme army or having an amazing battle plan.

I went back to a drawing I did back in March, but have a little bit of a different perspective on it as I read Exodus 17 this morning.
We are so quick to promote something if we believe in, right? From makeup to comfortable shoes or our favorite cleaning product. If we love it, we talk about it. What if we promoted Jesus as much as we promoted everything else? What if we were quick to remember and write something down as a permanent reminder (like Moses did after defeating the Amalekites). What if we hopped into our spiritual airplanes and strapped a banner of everything we talked about in one day to the back…would that banner have Jesus as the front and center, or would it be added in so small that no one could see it? Now more than ever, this world needs to see the people of God get in their planes and fly the banner of Christ…The banner of the Lord. It doesn’t matter if they aren’t paying attention or if they aren’t interested in your God….keep flying anyway. Keep promoting the Lord. He IS YOUR BANNER.
This world is counting on you and I to raise our rod and show that we will not only be victorious over the evil of this world, but we choose to honor Him as our banner and promote Him in the good and the bad. As long as our banner is flying, we will always be victorious. Someone is watching WHAT and WHO we promote each day…Who we choose raise up. Let’s fly the banner of our Lord…our Jehovah-Nissi.

Right now, your battle may be completely different from mine. We all have different enemies and struggles in this world. But, my God is capable of handling any and all of our problems. Jehovah-Nissi will fight your battles and mine. All God asks is that you get in your cockpit and start flying…raising your “rod” for Him. There are lost people looking up for something…anything…
They need to know The Lord is fighting for YOU and that He wants to fight for them, too.
