Sitting at the foot of the cross and trusting in God can be hard when life throws things your way that you didn’t expect. We can’t take refuge in the things of this world, because they are temporary. They will not last through the storm.
However, the cross is not temporary. It is everlasting. We can sit underneath it…it’s like that tree planted by the water…it can’t be moved. When you are leaning on the cross, you are blessed. Blessed as in happy, content and fulfilled.
The waters and the winds may be churning as you sit on the bank, but hold onto the cross. Take refuge in it. That is your protection, your shelter, your safety.
