By thinking the way God thinks produces peace.
When we read about the Armor of God, we are told to “Put on the shoes of peace.” Peace just doesn’t fall on you. It’s to be put on. We cannot lay hands on someone and impart peace, it’s a process through acquiring patience that gives us peace.
Enduring all that comes our way with patience, produces peace.
In the past, I have not been a very patient person, and I am definitely not where I want to be when it comes to my tolerance and ability to wait. However, I have noticed that when you are rooted in God’s Word and make a conscious effort to study and grow in Him, you become more stable. Stability is the building block of peace and patience. As I look back on many times in my life, I can see that I had my blocks stacked backwards. The smaller blocks of work, family and materialistic things were placed on the bottom as my foundation and then I would throw God on the top as an afterthought to make my life seem “taller” or “more holy” to those around me. What did that do? That created a wobbly, shaky foundation that was full of uncertainty and chaos…’cause when the devil decided to push just a little, my blocks came crashing down. When you start with the biggest block of Jesus and His truth, you develop love, patience, kindness, unity, gentleness and forgiveness. When that happens…the devil’s pushes may cause a shift, but you will continue to stand strong because you are bonded in peace!
Ephesians 4:1-3
“Therefore I, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting one another in love, diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit with the peace that binds us.”
