Peter answered Jesus’ question on who He was with the words, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God”. Jesus said that on this truth He would build His church. Not on Peter, but the foundation being that He IS the Son of God. As believers, this truth, which we must acknowledge in our own lives, is what our relationship with God balances on. Without Jesus as the foundation…our cornerstone…everything else teeters on collapse.
You may think you have it all together and you can stack the stones of your life any which-a-way…placing yourself and your accomplishments as the foundation…your family…maybe all the money you have made at that job you love…BUT I can assure you, eventually it will all come crashing down. When Jesus is your foundation and the truth on which you stack every element of your life, nothing can take them down. He says so himself…not even the gates of hell will prevail or overpower it. It meaning the church and YOU!
How does your life stack up? Is it set up on the truth that Jesus is the Messiah, Son of the living God? If not, you may need to knock down that teetering stack of stones and begin building on The Truth.
Start with Jesus and everything will always balance and stack just right!
